St Catherine’s Church, FishburnThe church of St Catherine was erected in 1922 and has seating for approximately 120. It is a timber building, set in its own grounds, surrounded by a stone wall. There is a small hall in the grounds. It was always intended to replace the structure with a 'permanent' building but so far this has been unnecessary. However, the lack of emphasis on a building has led to a deeper fellowship and friendship in the congregation and a freedom and informality in much of the worship. A much-appreciated feature of life is the Friday Café. This is attended by people from all across the parish and others who do not attend church at all. On one occasion it even hosted 30 passing cyclists! Work is in hand to improve the hall and kitchen and to provide an accessible toilet. The hall is available for hire.
