Baptism in the Parish of the Upper Skerne

We’re delighted you want to come to church to celebrate the precious gift life of a child’s life. Bringing a child for baptism is a serious decision to make and we take it seriously, too giving time and effort to make the occasion as meaningful and memorable as we can.

The baptism service is always on a Sunday at either 12 noon or 1pm in most of our parish churches, with the exception of St Alban's at Trimdon Grange where it is at 1pm only. The pattern for baptisms in our parish are as follows:

1st Sunday of the month - St Alban's, Trimdon Grange

2nd Sunday of the month - St Mary Magdalene's, Trimdon Village

3rd Sunday of the month - St Catherine's, Fishburn or St Michael's, Bishop Middleham

4th Sunday of the month - St Edmund's, Sedgefield

Adult Baptism. If any adults are interested in being baptised, we would expect them to attend worship regularly beforehand; please ask whoever makes your booking to put you in contact with the clergy.
