Welcome to five distinct villages

with an enviable community spirit

Quite a few people have never heard of the Parish of the Upper Skerne. It's actually a useful name to identify an area of the North East centred on the attractive town of Sedgefield not very far from Durham City, and the outlying villages of Fishburn, the Trimdons, Bishop Middleham, Bradbury and Mordon.

It's a predominantly rural area where farming thrives and rubs shoulders with cutting-edge, high-tech companies housed in a rapidly-growing number of modern business parks. New housing developments and excellent facilities of all kinds make it an attractive area in which to live while good motorway and road links enable rapid access to nearby cities for commuters.
